- Did you meet your goals for the project? How can/could you tell? How would you improve on future learning opportunities like this?
My goals for this project were to gain more knowledge on Phil Knight and his life, and to educate others on the contributions that Knight has made to society. I met these goals because I left this project with a much greater knowledge of Knight, and I left people wanting to inquire more into Knight. I would improve on future opportunities by researching more in depth, and by shortening my explanation of my topic so as not to stretch the attention span of those who I am trying to educate.
- What will you remember from Night of the Notables?
I will remember the speeches delivered by the grade tens. The atmosphere, and the amazingly well done speeches. They were so engaging and I think that the grade tens portrayed their eminent people superbly. I will never forget how confident the grade tens were, and I hope that our class can learn from their great examples.
- Who would you like to thank, or recognize, for their contributions to Night of the Notables?
I would like to thank the teachers for their contributions to us. Although the focus of the night was on the students, none of us could have achieved so much without the guidance of the teachers and their support of our education. I would also like to thank the alumni for their past contributions and for continuing to support the TALONS program year after year by coming to events like these and showing their belief in us. Finally, I would like to thank my fellow TALONS for being so supportive of myself and each other, and for helping each other out when we needed it.
